✦ What we store

When a parent creates a bookshelf we store: the family name you choose, your studio PIN, your children's first names and (if you add them) ages and interests, the story language, the stories written for your family, and the recordings you or your invited readers make. If you send feedback, we store the message and which family sent it. That's the entire list. No emails, no phone numbers, no photos, no payment details, no location.

✦ Children

Everything about a child in Hushabook is typed in by their own parent. Children have no accounts, no logins, and give us no information themselves. The bookshelf a child uses collects nothing about them - no tracking, no analytics, no ads, ever.

✦ What we never do

Your recordings and stories are never used to train AI models, never sold, never shared between families, and never made public. Nothing on Hushabook is searchable or discoverable. Only people with your family's private link can see your shelf, and only people with your PIN can change it.

✦ Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database and file storage), encrypted in transit and at rest. Story text is written by Anthropic's Claude and recordings are processed by ElevenLabs to time the read-along words - both receive only what's needed for that one job, under terms that forbid them using it to train their models.

✦ Deleting

You can delete any story from your studio - the recording goes with it, permanently. Want your whole family gone? Say so in the studio's feedback box and it's done within a day, everything included. You can download all your recordings any time from the studio's keepsake section.

✦ Questions

Hushabook is a small family-run trial. Anything unclear, use the feedback box in your studio - a human (James, a dad) reads every message.
