Stories written for your child.
Read in your voice.
Kept forever.
Every night, Hushabook writes a brand-new bedtime story just for your little one. You read it aloud, once, into your phone. It lands on their glowing bookshelf, in your voice, with the words lighting up as you speak.
Three minutes before bedtime
Write it
Tell it what tonight needs: two minutes or eight, dragons or dinosaurs, or "she's nervous about her first swimming lesson". A brand-new story appears, starring your child.
Read it
Press record and read it aloud. Fluffed a line? Scrap it and go again. Reading from a real book instead? That works too.
On the shelf
A glowing book a night, each with its own painted cover. The words light up in time with your voice, so early readers follow along.
Not a robot voice. Not a clone. You.
Other apps synthesise a voice that sounds a bit like you. Hushabook keeps the real thing: the pause before the dragon appears, the giggle you couldn't hold in, your terrible pirate accent. That's what your child actually falls asleep to.
And it adds up to something. A year from now there's a shelf of three hundred nights. Twenty years from now, it's the most precious thing you ever made with a phone. Every recording is yours to download and keep, always.
Grandma is 4,000 miles away.
Tonight, she's reading the story.
Any story can be sent to someone you love with a single link. No app, no account, no PIN. They open it on their phone, press record, and read. By bedtime it's on the shelf, in their voice, words glowing along.
Grandparents, aunties, a parent away on a work trip. Anyone with a voice and five minutes.
The small print, the nice kind
A quiet corner of the internet
Each family's bookshelf is private, just for you and the people you invite. There are no ads, no feed, no comments, nothing public and nothing to scroll. Your recordings belong to your family. Hushabook was built by a dad for his own kids, and it shows.
Questions parents ask
What does it cost?
Nothing during the trial. We're a small invite-only test right now. If Hushabook grows up, it'll be a small monthly subscription, and your shelf and recordings come with you.
What do we need to run it?
Any phone for recording, and any phone, tablet or computer for listening. It runs in the browser; add it to the home screen and it feels like an app.
Who can hear our recordings?
Only people with your family's private bookshelf link. Nothing is public, searchable or shared between families.
Can someone else do the reading?
Yes. Publish a story without recording it and send the invite link to a grandparent or anyone you choose. They record from their own phone, no account needed.
What ages is it for?
The sweet spot is about 3 to 9. Stories adapt to your child's age, from very simple and short to longer adventures for confident listeners, and the glowing read-along words quietly help early readers.
